This Technical Specification concerns the supply of thermal links for HLLHC shielded beam screens. The delivery is foreseen over 30 months from notification of the Contract. The first delivery (pre-series) is expected to take place within six months from notification of the Contract.
The thermal links consist of copper strips (OFE Cu) and so-called interface plates (co-laminated OFE Cu – stainless steel). Each copper strip is made up of solid and multi-layer sections to ensure sufficient flexibility of the thermal links. The extremities of the copper strips are to be attached to the interface plates by means of welding or brazing. The thermal links have been designed to allow an optimum heat transfer from the central part of the copper strip to both interface plates.
